In the fall, 4th grade attended Conservation Kids Day at Mark Youngdahl Walking Trail. The day is presented by the Soil and Conservation Department. The kids spent the day learning about soil and water preservation and forestry. 7 schools in the St. Joseph area were invited to this event. All students who attended were able to participate in a poster contest. The theme of the poster contest was "Healthy Conservation Habits Create Healthy Habitats." All the students in our class created a poster that they thought reflected the theme. Then I sent them to be judged by the Soil and Conservation Department. I am happy to announce the top 3 winners from my class!!
1st place-Mackenzie Collings
2nd place-Lydia Woody
3rd place-Madison Roderick
These 3 students were invited to the city wide poster contest on May 2nd. They were honored for their talents at the ceremony! Every student in the class received a blue participation ribbon for their effort. I was very proud of them! Here are a few pictures from the event!
